“ Best fish and chips for a long time. Kids portions, but we stole a few chips from them. Fantastic to see local Woodalls sausage, smoked and unsmoked. Fish bites were amazing. Busy and I had to wait, but it was worth the wait. Friendly staff. Nice to sit by the seaside to eat. ”

“ What a fabulous meal. We descended on Salt last week with all our family whilst on holiday and had a fantastic meal. The batter was just the best. No wonder they have won awards for it. The restaurant itself is very trendy, and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and attentive and there was a great atmosphere. Loved the lighting. Whilst we were there we spoke to the owner Ben, he was a lovely guy. He told us how he’d renovated the building himself, explained how he sources his fish and knows exactly where they come from, even down to the boat it was caught from. His potatoes are grown locally just for them, and they even make their chips from the potatoes on-site and on-demand, to avoid using preservatives. I was so impressed with how much passion Ben had for his restaurant and the time and consideration that has gone into creating the space as well as how sustainably and eco-friendly he runs the business, that I had to write this review. I have no idea what some of the other reviews are about. I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying their experience here, food or service. Ben and his team are giving this a real go. It’s so important to support places like this. Well done Salt, what a gem of a find. I would 100% recommend a visit. I left this review on trip advisor too. ”
“ I turned up on ' Fish and Chips day ' didn't even know it was a thing but each to their own. This is a take away and restaurant, very clean throughout, the staff were friendly, very helpful and chatty in a really good way. Made you feel welcome from the moment you stepped into the shop. I ordered the regular haddock, reg chips and peas with 2 of their butchers sausages. The fish and chips came in a box and were cooked to perfection For the price, you are getting very good quality seasoned perfectly. Plenty to fill an empty stomach. The butchers sausages ( although not for me but sampled none the less ) were full of flavour, just the right amount of skin, definitely worth the higher price. Would highly recommend going, even to the take away as it is so close to the beach, you can grab some, sit on the prom and relax ”
“ Friendly staff were chatty and happy to help. Chips were lovely and the small cod was battered perfectly. No excess. Just crispy coating. The butcher's sausage was really nice too. Sitting on the grass or one of the many benches overlooking the beach is exactly how fish and chips should be enjoyed! Would definitely recommend this as a standard treat when you visit the beach or the kids play area. The large car park is free to use and the whole area, though very dog friendly, is very clean and tidy. Plenty of bins, nearby shop for bucket and spades etc. Right in a coastal path that is a nice walk or cycle and gives some nice sea views. Can see across to the Isle of Man at the right time of day. The chip shop looks soon to be joined by an ice cream parlor on the corner and once this is stated up and once the chippy get their in-store tables set up and ready to use this will be a lovely place to sit and eat in. ”
“ Just back from a fabulous evening at this Fish and Chip restaurant in Seascale. We were a large group but this did not phase the friendly and welcoming team. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and it was great to be able to eat in and enjoy a drink as well. I had the haddock and it was beautifully cooked with just the right amount of batter. Great chips also - nice and crisp. The tartare sauce was particularly good in my opinion. The walk back in the dark across the beach to the car park in Drigg was an experience not to be missed ! ”
